Verse: It was now about noon and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon. Then the veil of the temple was torn down the middle. Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commend my spirit”; and when he had said this, he breathed his last. (Luke 23:44-46)

Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, because of my sins I deserve punishment and death. But Your death is my hope and salvation. I accept whatever death is destined for me, with all the pains that may accompany it. I unite it to Your death and offer it to You. You have died for love of me. I will die for love of You. Jesus, I repent of all my sins. I love You with all my heart. Holy Spirit grant me peace at my hour of death, knowing that I will be joining my Lord in Heaven. Amen.
